Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026

The Long Game is built to be simple and private. This policy explains what happens with your information when you use the app.

No account, no login

The Long Game does not require you to create an account or sign in. We don't collect your name, email address, or any other personal details through the app itself.

Your data stays on your device

Everything you enter in the app - your Misogi, your habits, your experiences, your progress notes and check-ins - is stored locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or have access to this information on any server. If you delete the app, this data is gone.

Photos

If you attach a photo to a note, the app asks for permission to access your photo library so you can pick an image. That photo is copied into the app's local storage on your device - it is never uploaded anywhere or seen by us. If you delete the note or the app, the photo is deleted with it.

Reminders and notifications

The Long Game can send you optional local reminders - for example, a daily nudge to check in on your current habit, or a heads-up before an experience window closes. These are scheduled on your device and only sent if you turn them on and grant notification permission in Settings. They are not push notifications sent from a server, and they're not used to track or profile you in any way.

Exporting and backing up your data

The app lets you export a backup of your data as a file, which you can save or share however you like (for example, to Files, iCloud Drive, or email). Once that file leaves the app, it's under your control - we have no visibility into where you store it or who you share it with.

App Store and Play Store analytics

Like most apps, The Long Game may appear in aggregate, anonymized analytics provided by Apple and Google (for example, install counts or crash reports). This data is collected and governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies, not by us, and is not tied to your identity as far as we're concerned.

Children's privacy

The Long Game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes - for example, if we add a feature that collects data - we'll update this page and adjust the "last updated" date above.
